在中学英语中，句型“ It is ...that...” 是高考考查的重要内容之一，其相关句式较多，用法容易混淆。以下我将对这一句型及相关句式作一归纳，以便参考。

1. It is/was +序数词+that从句。意为是第几次（天，周......）如：

It was the second time that he have written to a foreign pen friend.

2. It is/was+被强调部分+that/who.这一句型可以强调除谓语动词以为的任何部分。中国论文网 q$H(@$um g

3.It is /was+形容词/名词+that从句。其中，it是形式主语，that从句是真正的主语。如：

It is possible that he can't come tomorrow.

4. It is +过去分词 (said，reported, learned...)+ that从句。其中，it 是形式主语，真正的主语是that 引导的从句。该结构译为“据说（据报道……）”

It is said that the professor has already succeeded in carrying out the experiment.

据说这位教授已成功地完成了这个实验。

5. It is+过去分词 (suggested ,ordered...) +that从句。其中，该句型和上一句属一个句型。主句中的过去分词是表示请求、建议、命令等词时，that后的从句要用虚拟语气 （should+动词原形）。可以省略，常译为“据建议，有命令……”中国论文网e!{@dKp3h%h

6. It is +一段时间+since从句，意为“自从.....有多长时间了”。 其中要求since引导的从句必须采用一般过去时，而主句是一般现在时或现在完成时。该从句的谓语动词是瞬间性动词时，从句正常翻译；而如果该从句的谓语动词是延续性动词作，从句必须作否定翻译

It is two hours since he left the classroom.

自从他离开教室以来，已经两个小时了。

7. It was / will be + 一段时间 + before从句。在 “It was + 一段时间 + before从句”句型中，若主句是一般过去式，从句也是一般过去式时：若主句是肯定句，翻译成“过了多长时间之后才……”，若主句是否定形式，翻译成“没过多久就……”中国论文网i+j8E_(R

9. It is + a pity (a shame......) that 从句。that后的从句一般用虚拟语气（should+动词原形），should可以省去，表示出乎意料，常译为“竟然”。
